🎨 Design Description

The reverse features a detailed map of Australia highlighting Ophir, the birthplace of the nation’s first gold rush, alongside the inscription “175” marking the anniversary.

Behind the map, a crossed shovel and pickaxe symbolise traditional gold prospecting. Additional elements illustrate life on the goldfields, including a lantern, pitched tent, wheelbarrow filled with alluvium, a prospector panning for gold, a bucket, and a cradle box set against rugged terrain.

The design is completed with the inscription “AUSTRALIA’S FIRST GOLD RUSH,” the 2026 year-date, and the Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mintmark.

The obverse portrays the effigy of His Majesty King Charles III by Dan Thorne, accompanied by the denomination and coin specifications.
